What is Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB)?. It is government body to promote Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) market nationally and internationally. PSEB is not only issuing Call Center License but have several objects that they are accomplishing.
Several individuals approach me of starting a call center in a month’s time. I always reply them that they need to have a Call Center License first and then think on getting start your business. Getting a project is hard and it takes time and an effort to grow business. I have been in that pain for several years. I still struggle to get my sales up.
Need for Call Center License
Any startup entrepreneur is emotionally involved in a project. Why? There can be several answer. One answer is that personal cash has been injected. ROI must be quick. Well, that’s not how startup works. I have spoken to so many owners and they need ROI within six months. It’s a turn-off for the owners who is looking for a quick turn-around.
This is only my opinion and of course you don't have to and won’t agree with it.
- To stop illegal funding of your project.
- To stop and reduce anti-money laundering.
- Legalize your operation with the government by disclosing your client and remittances.
- Documenting your remittances.
- Increase business and country’s credibility.
- Have some damn respect for the law.
- Finally, pay the freaking taxes. You owe it to the country.
PSEB has been doing a superb job supporting IT companies on time. They can be slow at times or not even up to your standard. However, an overall picture would be positive to work with PSEB.
We are moving towards digital Pakistan. Our passport is digital. Our CNIC is digital. Our banks are digital, so on and so forth. So is the documentation of your remittances.
Doing things illegally is easy. Just have a gung-ho style and you are ready for illegal business. An illegal work or project is one time. However, being in a legal business is a continuous effort. You are not thinking only for yourself and your business. You are also thinking about your employees and their well-being. These employees are thinking of their families. It’s a chain.
PSEB does that to its licensed call centers. I have experienced it several times. Pakistan has a bad name and reputation due to internal and external factors. We all know about it. PSEB is there to reduce or eradicate those factors.
